Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Bottles Review and Giveaway!

At last, my search for the perfect baby bottle has finally come to an end!!

I have been on a desperate hunt for a baby bottle that we can call our favorite, our top pick, a bottle that rises above all others, a bottle that Emma Bee enjoys and one that gives her less frequent toots, spit up, burps and soothes her colic.  Until now, with all of the bottles that we've tried, we just had not found "the one."

But, the fabulous folks at Dr. Brown's sent us some of their bottles to try and boy, am I glad they did!

We tried the

These bottles are also available in a vibrant blue as well as a smaller 4 oz. size!  These bottles have  special technology that helps reduce air intake, to help ease colic, minimize spit up, burping and gas.  All of which, Emma Bee has had frequent issues with.

At first glance, these bottles seem odd looking because its equipped with what looks like a large straw inside.  But this is actually an ingenious venting system that allows the air bubbles that enter the bottle as baby is suckling, to be carried up through the milk or formula and up to the surface of the liquid and also helps to counteract the vacuum affect.  This vent system prevents air from mixing in with the liquid, allowing baby to eat while taking in less air and helps preserve valuable nutrients.

Here's a quote from Dr. Brown's website that helps better explain this intriguing new concept:

"Our Dr. Brown's bottle features a patented two-piece internal vent system that works unlike any other bottle design. The vent system fully vents our bottle for vacuum-free feeding, which we call positive-pressure flow, similar to breastfeeding. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system, bypassing the breast milk or formula, to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breast milk or formula which minimizes oxidation and helps preserve essential nutrients like vitamins C, A and E.
Babies feed more comfortably because the vent system allows them to nurse without fighting the negative effects of a vacuum or the discomfort of ingesting air bubbles. This helps to reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping, and gas. The breast milk or formula flows freely, without nipple collapse."

Dr. Brown's Website also has a video diagramming how this amazing vent system works!

And who knew that you could get a bottle that helps preserve the vital nutrients in your baby's food!!  I'm blown away!  Its not just a bunch of mumbo jumbo and fancy talk to get you to buy their bottles.  After using these bottles, I'll stand by Dr. Brown's any day!

I have definitely noticed that in the last week that we've been exclusively using Dr. Brown's bottles,  Emma Bee has been significantly less gassy and less fussy.    Emma is a toot and burp machine.  Or at least she was.  Shes been so uncomfortable lately because of her gas.  She has hardly had any gas at all since we've started using Dr. Brown's bottles and this is a huge change from the norm for her.  When we used to feed her with other bottles (even ones with some sort of vent) she always burped up so much air afterwards.  Her burps were more like an adult belch and she always had at about 1/3 of her meal come up with all of the burps.

This week that has completely changed!  We burp her and all we get is just a small petite somewhat lady-like little burp and almost no spit up!  You wouldn't believe how much formula we've saved this week by not having to refeed her because shes spit up so much of her meal.

Shes had such bad colic lately but her mood has seemed to improve this week.  Less fussiness and crying.  She seems more comfortable and her tummy seems to be more settled.

I don't think I'll ever use any other bottle again...EVER!!  Unless Dr. Brown's comes out with a new one!

I actually had a mommy friend come over to visit today and she walked in to Emma Bee and I sitting down for a bottle and she said to me "ooh Dr. Browns, those are my favorite bottles!"   And who knows better than mom?  Mommas always know best!

Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow baby bottles are all BPA-free.  They also do not contain any PVC, lead or phthalates.   Dr. Brown's bottles are widely used among hospitals and medical facilities and have received a lot of positive recognition from medical communities, which tells me one thing...  I can trust their products !

The bottles all come with a secure cap that stays on tight even in a messy and jumbled about diaper bag (like ours).  The bottle also has very precise measuring on the side of the bottle for accurate feedings.

The pink tinted bottles are adorable, which I know, has nothing to do with the function of the bottle but hey, cloth diapers and baby clothes can be fabulous so why not your bottles too, right?

Dr. Brown's carries a wide variety of styles of bottles and bottle feeding accessories such as wide neck and glass bottles, sterilizers, insulated totes, bottle brushes, drying and dish washer racks, bottle warmers and more.   They also carry a variety of breastfeeding products such as nursing pillows, nipple creams and soothing gel pads.  Did you know that Dr. Brown's actually has their own double electric and manual breast pump?  They've got everything from pacifiers and teethers to training cups and serving dishes for solid food feeding.  Dr. Brown's even carries food storage and processing products like blenders and mashers to make your own baby food.  I had no idea that Dr. Brown's carried such an exquisite line of products for families.

Another great aspect of Dr. Brown's company is the fact that their customer service is top notch.  From my experience with Dr. Brown's, they've got a staff of very thoughtful and personable individuals.  I wouldn't hesitate to contact them with questions about their products because I know that I will have a positive experience!

  28. These are the best Baby Bottles EVER! I had them in the "Wide Neck" version cause I felt it was easier for me to put in the scoops of formula in them since they were wider. I gave formula at night and breastfed only in the day. I had them in Clear and would want to get them in Clear Color again since we are still planning to have a baby in the next few months. These bottles are a A+

  45. My sister uses these (has for all 3 of her boys), but I've been using several different types. We don't use bottles much, but I might have to try these out just to say that I gave them a chance for the next baby.
