Flip Dolls & Other Toys By Laura Wilson- BOOK REVIEW

One thing I've been noticing a lot lately, is that my 5 month old is becoming very easily bored with her toys.  She is growing so fast and learning so much, its just hard to keep her entertained!  I've scoured the toy stores for interesting and different toys but they are all the same.  Plus, I'm not into so much hard plastic.  And right now, Emma likes soft things that appeal to her sense of touch....and taste.  She is also at that point in her life when everything ends up in her mouth!  The kid definitely has an eye for textures!  But I have found the perfect solution to our little toy dilemma!

Its a book called
FLIP DOLLS & OTHER TOYS
That Zip, Stack, Hide, Crab & Go
By Laura Wilson

I love books from Sterling Publishing/ Lark Crafts.  And lucky me, they sent me a copy of this book to try!  And I'm so glad they did!  This book is filled with toy projects that I can make for Emma.  And they're not all just stuffed animals.  They're interactive too!  There are dolls that flip inside out to transform into a new toy like Saint George in his shining armor, transforming into the great dragon!  There is also the smiling crocodile with his smiling zipper teeth, stackable toys, a plush ukulele and even a laptop with a screen for making doodles!

The project I made for Emma was Gulp The Whale!  He is fantastic and so cute!

Hes a big hefty whale with a big belly ready to eat!  You can put smaller toys in his mouth and hell swallow them right up!

Mine turned out a little larger than I intended and he is almost as big as Emma but she doesn't seem to mind.  She seems to be enjoying the company of her new deep sea buddy!

The  instructions for each of the projects are all easy to follow and labeled based on difficulty level!  That is great in my opinion because its always disappointing when you dive into a new project and half way through you discover its just way over your head and beyond your skill level.  This gives you an idea of whether or not your up for the challenge or if you should try another easier project first.

There are so many projects in this book that I cant wait to try!  I love making things for Emma, especially toys.  And what is great about this book is that someday we can make these projects together.  The toys in this book would make great gifts for children too!  And the holidays are coming up so you'd have plenty of time to start a few projects for holiday gifts!

You can order a copy of Flip Dolls & Other Toys online from Lark Crafts, an imprint of Sterling Publishing.  You can also LIKE Lark Crafts on Facebook
