Sweet Booties By Valerie Van Arsdale Shrader- BOOK REVIEW

I've always loved to sew and craft and now that I'm a mom, I've found myself spending even more time at my sewing machine than ever!  I just love making things for my daughter.  Recently I had the opportunity to try out some new patterns and ideas.

The wonderful folks at Sterling Publishing/Lark Crafts sent me a great book to review.

Its called

The book is great!  Its filled with adorable projects for baby and also includes a CD with 12 full-size patterns to print.  There are also additional templates in the back of the book!

The book has so many fun ideas and things to create including blankets, bonnets, bibs, decor, toys and of course little shoes and booties.  There were so many projects that I wanted to try but my first was the Yo-Yo Mobile!

The directions were easy to follow and the finished product looked pretty similar to the photo.  I did change things up a bit by using scrap strips of fabric to cover the ring and hang it with instead of ribbon.

The front of the book contains some sections with several very helpful tips like sizing and suggested fabrics to use.  It also talks about sewing techniques, adding embellishments and how to create certain stitches with diagrams to follow.  I think this would be a great book for any baby craft enthusiast.  I cant wait to try out a few more of the projects.

I would highly recommend this book if you're looking for some cute and creative sewing projects for your little one!  The book and the ideas in it would make for great baby shower gifts as well!

  1. So many cute patterns and ideas! I'm trying to get into sewing (hubby said a sewing machine is a possibility for Christmas) so I should look into books like this for motivation.
