Review! We LOVE Cotton Babies And LOVE Our bumGenius Freetimes

We are a cloth diaper family!

Making the decision to use cloth diapers on Emma Bee has been one of the best decisions we've ever made!  Honest!  My hubby was reluctant at first.   He actually said it sounded gross.  But when I layed out the health benefits for our baby, the negative environmental impacts that disposable diapers have on our environment AND the cost savings of using cloth diapers rather than disposables, he was all in to give it a shot!  And hes been happy ever since.  And so am I!

The cloth diaper world is big!  Very big! There are so many different brands and companies and WAHMs that make cloth diapers.  When starting out its hard to choose and hard to know what to try.  BUT.....if you pay attention to what other moms are saying, you'll find one thing most of them have in common.  LOTS of moms LOVE bumGenius and there are lots of families who are strictly bumGenius families.  For some, its all they use!

And lucky us, because the fantastic folks at Cotton Babies sent us a couple bumGenius Freetimes to try on Emma Bee and her little fluff covered bum is just as cute as can be in her new bumGenius Freetime cloth diapers! We love the prints and the vibrant solids are great too!

bumGenius Freetimes are a super easy to use, easy to clean, All In One cloth diaper!  There is no need to stuff and you don't have to use any inserts.  Emma Bee is a very heavy wetter and she needs her diaper changed often because she tinkles so often.  We used our bumGenius Freetimes at nighttime because Emma Bee sleeps through the night.   She has been since she was 3 months old.  A lot of the time, when we wake her up in the morning, shes soaked from a full night of tinkles.  But our bumGenius Freetimes kept her dry all night long.  The PUL layne is durable and they are made to last!  These are definitely quality diapers.

And the fit is great!  They have adjustable snaps so they will accommodate your baby's shape and size.  They come in a variety of solid colors and prints.  There are two overlapping, absorbent layers sewn right in.  You can add extra fluff if you need to, but with my heavy wetting kiddo, we do just fine with them as is!

And my husband really loves the name "bumGenius" and is always telling our baby that shes a "bum...Genius"!  bumGenius also has other styles of cloth diapers too!

One of the great things that we love about Cotton Babies is the fact that they carry bumGenius, Flip, Econobum and FuzziBunz cloth diapers, in addition to other great baby gear, breastfeeding products, toys, clothing, great stuff for mom, stuff for the home such as laundry products and tons more!  Its a great site to shop for so many different products!  AND Cotton Babies randomly has Seconds Sales which are awesome!  Seconds are cloth diapers that have some minor cosmetic issue such as a stitch that is not quite straight or something very small like that.  They in no way effect the functionality of the diaper but they are sold for a reduced price and well worth it!  Were keeping our eyes peeled for the next Cotton Babies seconds sale!

You can check out Cottons Babies online and buy some bumGenius Freetimes for your baby and check out some of their other fantastic products at!  You can also connect with Cotton Babies on Facebook and Twitter!

  1. I love bumGenius, too! The quality of their diapers is fabulous! And Albert is definitely one of my favorite prints!

  2. I will admit, at first I was really skeptical about these. But I spoke with some of my friends that use them, and they LOVE them. I will have to give them a try!

  3. I've never tried BumGenius before, but have always wanted to. I like that the stuffing on these is already sewn in, so no stuffing is needed, and yet it flips out to dry quicker.

  4. I haven't tried BumGenius, but I love the designs that they have. And I want to try out AIO diapers

  5. I would love to have some of these sometime. They aren't cheap but I hear lots of good things and they are high quality!

  6. I've never tried Bum Genius but I'm seriously contemplating it!

  7. I've heard both good and bad things about bumGenius, but we plan on making them part of our stash since they're best sellers!

  8. Thank you for the review. We will start cloth diapering in February when baby comes but I think I'll have to give the bumgenius brand a try especially if there is no stuffing needed. I may have been convinced with great reviews and the Albert design too though.
