Diaper Dawgs Review & Giveaway!

I'm a finger foods kinda gal.  And ever since I started using cloth diapers for little Miss Emma Bee, I have a hard time eating my favorite finger foods, knowing where my fingers have been.  Yes yes, there is that wonderful invention we all know of....soap!  But still......washing cloth diapers every other day and having to use my bare fingers to pull out every single tinkle soaked, poo smeared insert leaves quite a nasty stain on your memory no matter how hard you scrub.

And do you think my hubby is going to sacrifice his good clean hands for the cause?  Not happening!  But I heard about these funny little dudes known as Diaper Dawgs and at first, they gave me the giggles but I realized how badly I wanted to give them a shot!  And they are so cool!

The folks at Diaper Dawgs sent us a pair of these best buds to try and I love using them!  I still wash my hands after diaper laundry duty but now I'm much more confident in my squeaky clean pinchers when I sit down for lunch afterwards!

So what are Diaper Dawgs exactly?  They are a patent-pending, slip-on silcone mit like barrier that help protect and guard your fingers against the evils that lurk in those dirty cloth diapers.  They help protect your fingers from all the soiled messes on soakers and inserts when your seperating them from your pockets, all in twos, covers and such.  You can also use them to grip inserts and liners when your spraying them off or rinsing off the poo prior to washing.  Thats my least favorite part about diaper duty!   I use fleece liners in Emma Bee's diapers to catch the poo and help prevent staining on our diapers and inserts.  And we dont have an actual diaper sprayer so Diaper Dawgs are great when Im trying to rid the liners of poo!

I've encountered a lot of moms who are skeptical about starting cloth diapers because of the whole poo and pee factor.  The idea of having to handle all of the mess and bodily "stuff" is just too icky and they dismiss the whole cloth idea completely!  Its such a shame! But these are great to ease you into the routine and make things easier and cleaner!

For me, I'm not too grossed out by the process do diaper washing.  I can typically hustle through the cloth diaper sorting, rinsing, prepping, and washing without a second thought.  I even hand wash a couple of cloth diaper loads each week to save electricity by not running the washer.  But its those days that I start my loads in the morning and then sit down after the washer is going for lunch and pick up my turkey sandwich and realize...."ooooh, I just touched poop!"  Those are the days that I am SO THANKFUL for Diaper Dawgs!

There are so many benefits to using cloth diapers!  It saves you so much money in the long run, it helps the environment by not throwing tons of disposable filth into the landfils and its healthy for your baby!  Something as simple as dirty fingers shouldnt be the reason you decide not to use cloth!  So Diaper Dawgs is a great way to get people and their babies into cloth by not having to worry about contaminated fingers!

So would I recommend Diaper Dawgs!  You bet!  Especially if you are a new mom or new to cloth and need something to help you get over the heebie jeebies of dirty diapers.  This will make things so much more tolerable for you!

Plus they are super cute!
