AyaZen Fractionated Coconut Oil Review

I love using coconut oil and use it for a lot of things.  I use fractionated coconut oil with my essential oils especially when I'm using them on my daughter since they need to be diluted.  I also make a lot of sugar scrubs and the coconut oil has to stay in liquid form for this so fractionated coconut oil is perfect.  I used AyaZen Fractionated Coconut Oil in my last batch of sugar scrubs and it turned out just perfect.

I combine sugar with the fractionated coconut oil and sometimes add rosehip or argan oil as well.  And then I finish it off with some essential oils to give it a nice fragrance and also gives it health and beauty benefits since many essential oils are great for your skin.  AyaZen is pure coconut oil that's been processed in a way that allows it to stay in liquid form rather than being solid at room temperature like unrefined coconut oil.  It has no smell, nothing added to it and doesn't stain since its clear.  It also absorbs really well and doesn't leave you feel too oily.  I was very pleased with it!  You can order it on Amazon right now for only $13.95 and it qualifies for free Amazon Prime shipping too!

Nura Natural Organic Cold Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil Review

I love using essential oils and one thing that's always important, is having a good carrier oil to use to dilute and mix with the essential oils.  Lately I've become very fond of using rosehip oil because of the benefits it has for skin.  I also love using it on my face since my skin is so sensitive and often gets dried out.

I tried some Organic Cold Pressed Rosehip Oil from Nura Natural Skincare and really loved it.  It absorbs well and is great used by itself.  Its also been a really nice carrier oil to use with my essential oils.  The nice thing about using this on my face is that it doesn't clog my pores or make me break out.  And even though its an oil, it doesn't leave my skin feeling oily since it absorbs pretty well.  You can purchase this oil on Amazon!

Moody Bee Beeswax Lip Balm Review and Giveaway

There are two things that I am practically addicted to that I have to carry with me in my purse at all times.  Lotion!   And lip balm!  The worst feelings for me are dry hands and dry lips.  I have discovered that if a serious tragedy has occurred and I am out of lotion, lip balm can actually work as a substitute for dry hands in the most desperate situations.  And my favorite types of lip balms are ones made with beeswax and natural ingredients.  I tried a new lip balm recently called Moody Bee Beeswax Lip Balm.  With a name like that, how could I not try it?

It happened to be one of my favorite flavors which is peppermint.  I love peppermint lip balms because of the fresh scent and the cooling sensation you can get from the peppermint.  This lip balm is actually a combination of peppermint and vanilla so it smells and tastes amazing!  Its a great combo.  The nice thing is that I can apply it and not need to reapply for hours.  I love how the beeswax make it smooth going on and just the right texture.  Some lip balms are too soft and smear on really thick but this is perfect.

What I really liked about Moody Bee is the fact that this is a family run business.  The Moody family actually lives in Canada and operates their own beekeeping business where they produce local honey.  Its a husband and wife team.  Randy Moody keeps the bees and Krista Moody makes the lip balm using their beeswax.  I love family business and because my dream is to some day run a business with my husband, I love couples that work together, especially in a field such as this!

Something extra fantastic..... you can WIN a tube of Moody Bee Lip Balm!

Simple Royal Dehydrator Sheets Review

I love using my dehydrator!  Not only is it a great way to make healthy treats but its a great way to preserve foods.  I make everything from homemade all natural fruit leather to kale chips as well as dried fruits and vegetables to store for use over extended periods of time.  One thing that's a little tricky however, is drying small pieces of food like shredded carrots or making fruit leather starting with fruit purees.  You need something to keep your food on the drying rack.  I usually use parchment paper but its not very durable and I can't reuse it of course.  Plus it doesn't lay nicely on my dehydrator racks.  I'll be using my dehydrator a lot more now that the weather is getting nicer and well be harvesting from our little backyard homestead, so when I was given the opportunity to review these Simple Royal Dehydrator Sheets that you can purchase on Amazon, I thought it was definitely worth trying!

I have really grown to love shopping on Amazon.  We share one car and my husband works in another town so I can't just pack up the kiddo and drive to the store whenever I need something.  Using Amazon Prime to get free shipping and ordering lots of necessities on Amazon is so easy and convenient.  These dehydrator sheets are only $15.99 for a pack of 9 and Amazon Prime gets you free 2 day shipping so its a great deal!   The sheets are sizable so you can cut them to the right size and shape that you need.  And not only can you use them in a dehydrator but you can also lay them flat on a cookie sheet and use them in the oven for a nonstick baking surface so they serve more than one purpose.  I thought they worked very well.  I didn't have any issues with them sticking to things and like that I can rinse and reuse them.  The reusable factor is big for me.  They are also BPA free.  They are teflon coated and I do usually avoid pots and pans that are teflon coated but the nice thing about these sheets is that when using them with a dehydrator, you won't have quite extreme heat coming in contact with it as you would if you accidentally overheated a teflon coated frying pan.  So the teflon coating on these doesn't bother me and I do like the lack of BPA.   They easily cleaned up after use and I just rolled them up with a rubber band and stored them in my utensil drawer.

These sheets are 14 inches by 14 inches and are made to fit several models of the Excalibur dehydrating system but I actually have a Nesco American Harvest Dehydrator which is round with the heating/drying element down the center of the machine.  I trimmed my sheets to fit perfectly so I think these sheets could fit a variety of machines.  I will definitely keep using these for my dehydrator since its so much easier than the parchment paper I've been using.

Peak Fusion Yacon Syrup Review

We've pretty much stopped using white sugar in our house.  If we do need sweetener, we use raw sugar.  But I am always looking for natural sweetener alternatives.  I know we could cut out sweeteners all together but sometimes you just need it and some things just don't taste right without a hint of sweetness.   I've heard about people using Yacon Syrup as a natural sweetener so I was curious about trying it.  The folks at Peak Fusion sent us a bottle of their 100% Pure Organic Yacon Syrup to try out.

I was pleasantly surprised.  At first I had no idea what to expect.  It has a sort of molasses like flavor.  You can use it in baking and cooking and I even added it to my iced tea for a naturally sweet tea which I liked.  Its made from the root of the yacon plant and is sourced from Peru.  I did a little research into yacon root and found that this has some health benefits.  It can help lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels and is also a great source of dietary fiber.  It also helps with immune system support and can help increase energy.  So there are some extra benefits to using this over other unnatural sweeteners.  I did like the flavor, especially in my iced tea.  I also love making this apple fruit dip that my mother used to make growing up.   Its just soft cream cheese, brown sugar and a bit of vanilla whipped together.  This syrup was a great substitute for the brown sugar.  I will definitely be keeping yacon syrup in our pantry from now on!

If you're interested in trying it, you can order it on Amazon!

Made From Earth Organic Aloe + Jojoba Cream Body Lotion Review

I'm a lotion freak.  I use lotions multiple times a day.  I keep a bottle of lotion in almost every room of our house.  My skin is prone to dryness.  I used to coat my skin with unnatural junk.  So many products that I used to use that were just packed with synthetic ingredients that were in no way healthy for my skin.  The appeal was always in the extravagant scents.  But I've opened up to the world of natural products and care a lot more about the products my family is using now that I've learned.  So finding lotions packed with natural ingredients is always fun for me.

I recently tried Organic Aloe and Jojoba Cream Therapy Lotion from Made From Earth.   This is great stuff!  Its nice and thick so one application lasts quite a while.  It absorbs well but doesn't leave my skin greasy even though its thick.  It contains organic aloe vera and jojoba nut as well as roobios tea leaves.  The ingredients are concentrated so it moisturizes and conditioners the skin very well.  It also contains organic lavender, chamomile and calendula.  I love calendula!  And its also got coconut, macadamia nut, grapeseed oil, primrose oil and rosehip oil along with other great ingredients.  So many great ingredients that were made by the earth.  I'd much rather let mother earth nourish my body than a bunch of stuff created in a lab.

There are also no artificial fragrances added as well as no parabans, pthalates, petrochemicals so I know I'm not just covering my skin with chemicals.  Its also cruelty free and certified organic.  I loved this lotion and have been using it on my daughter as well.  Its definitely helping with my dry skin and its nice because I don't have to apply lotion as often when I'm using this.  Its been a great face cream too!   Since it doesn't have any added cosmetic fragrances, its just a natural earthy scent that's very refreshing.  You can definitely smell the natural aloe in it, which I love.  Its definitely worth trying if you're looking for a natural body cream.  You can check out the Made From Earth website to see more of their natural made from earth products!

Total Tea Gentle Detox Tea Review & Giveaway!

I have something to admit.  I have a problem.  An addiction to tea.  I seriously have a mad love for tea.  I do like coffee but when it comes down to it, I always have been and always will be a tea fanatic.  My daughter is a tea fan too.  She loves her iced decaf tea!  So when presented with the opportunity to try new teas, it is always a definitely YES for me!

I had never heard of Total Tea before I tried their Gentle Detox tea.  I have had digestive issues for most of my life.  My stomach is always unsettled among other things.  I've had some success calming my stomach with essential oils but I love to sooth an upset stomach with tea.  And this Gentle Detox tea is great for getting things working properly in the digestive department.  The first thing I did was read the label.  That's the first thing I look at when it comes to teas.  You wouldn't expect teas to have unnatural ingredients in them but surprisingly, many do.  Which completely ruins the whole purpose of tea.  But to my delight, Total Tea is all natural ingredients!   Some of the goodness in this gentle detox includes chamomile, hibiscus, cinnamon, papaya, ginger, peppermint and rosehips. No preservatives and no artificial ingredients.  Its an awesome combination.  I love the flavor, hot and cold.  And its naturally caffeine free and gluten free too!

I brewed this tea over the weekend when I was under some intense stress.  My stomach was in knots.  My toddler had fallen out of her crib for the first time and we spent the night getting xrays of her foot and ankle.  Turned out to be just a bad sprain but having a 2 year old in pain is awful.  My anxiety was through the roof!   BUT....then.....the following morning was hit number 2.  After spending the night in the ER with the kiddo, I was feeling tired and clumsy and ended up falling down our stairs.  And that meant trip number 2 to the ER for xrays.  Wasn't a good 24 hours that's for sure.  Thankfully neither of us had any broken bones.  But I had badly sprained both ankles.  Talk about stress!  So I needed something to sooth my nervous gut and calm me a bit too.  We've had dreary, raining weather so some warm tea was perfect.  I loved this.  It calmed my stomach and my mind.  And it tastes fantastic, especially with a bit of honey.  The nice thing is that this detox tea is a combination of things that will help with digestive issues, acid reflux, gas, lose stools and constipation.  Its also calming and soothing too so its great to enjoy under stress, while you are sick or just needed to give your digestive system and once over.  And its great for immune system support!

I am excited to try more blends from Total Tea!  If you care to enjoy this tea for yourself, you can order Total Tea Gentle Detox on Amazon!

And you can WIN a box of Total Tea Gentle Detox!

Azure Naturals Ultimate Retinol Anti Wrinkle Serum Review

I've been a long time fan of Azure Naturals products.  They have so many great skin care products that have worked wonders for my skin.  So far, I've never once been disappointed with their products.  I recently tried their Ultimate Retinol Anti Wrinkle Serum.

I'm still young and my skin isn't showing too much aging...yet.  But I do like to make sure that I'm being proactive and taking care of my skin now to try to avoid early signs up aging.  A wrinkle or two won't kill me but if I can fend off some wrinkles  and fine lines here and there, I'll be happy.  This anti wrinkle serum is great because it absorbs really well into this skin.  Its not oily or greasy or sticky.   Retinol is great for reducing fine lines and wrinkles and helping to keep them away.  Azure Naturals recommends using retinol in your late twenties and early thirties.  It doesn't clog my pores or make my face break out. I'll be happy to see my skin over more long term use but so far its been nice on my skin.  Winter is finally over and Spring is here so its nice to get out in the sun with a fresh face.  And with so much time in the sun for a while, I need to do a bit extra to care for my skin.  This serum is also great for moisturizing and also promotes cell turnover.  I've got some wrinkles around my eyes and mouth like I want to keep at bay.

And its 97% natural, 72% organic and contains no alcohol, no parabens, and no GMOs.  Its also plant based, cruelty free and never tested on animals!  Lots of reasons why I like Azure Naturals products.   You can order this Ultimate Retinol Serum on Amazon.

La Vida Essentials Fractionated Coconut Oil Review

One of my favorite things is the world is coconut oil!  I do so much with it.  I cook with it, use it for moisturizer, add it to my homemade soaps and use it with essential oils.  Fractionated coconut oil is one of my favorite carrier oils.  I'm a Young Living Essential Oil Independent Distributor so I'm super passionate about using oils for me and my family.  One very good rule of thumb is to always dilute your essential oils when using the for children and babies.  I've found several essential oils that work great for my toddler so I always have to have fractionated coconut oil on hand at all times.

I recently tried some Fractionated Coconut Oil from La Vida Essentials and was very happy with it.  Its pure, refined fractionated coconut oil so it still has all of the great coconut oil benefits but because of the way its processed, it always stays in liquid form.  That's what makes it perfect for use with essential oils.  Its not too greasy and soaks into the skin nicely.  It also doesn't stain or leave oil spots on your clothing.  It has no odor or scent and has nothing else added to it.  Just pure coconut.  Its a good price for the 16 oz. size bottle you get.  You an order La Vida Fractionated Coconut Oil on Amazon for only $9.99 which is a great price!
